SKAL International Romania is officialy twinned with SKAL International Sofia
President of Skal International Romania, Razvan E. Pirjol and President Skal International Sofia, Henning Krippendorff signed Saturday October 11 current year, at Balchik, Skal fellowship certificate between the two associations, which is committed to expanding cooperation between members of the two clubs.
During the meeting has been examined the feasibility of regular exchanges of experience regarding tourism development activities, and ways of enhancing the exchange of information for the development and implementation of investment projects of common interest. Also discussed the possibility of ongoing study of joint actions to promote the two countries in a project to attract customers and promote destinations in South East Europe.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Nik Racik, Past President of SKAL International (2009-2010) who handed Fellowship certificate from Skal International, the two clubs Skal.

Skal International has a unique network that its members, the 400 clubs in 87 countries, can be used to identify a club Skal „brother” with whom to establish a relationship of understanding, friendship and cooperation, depending on the context historical and cultural, economic and commercial interests between member clubs, the similarity of interests and problems of the two associations.
SKÅL International Romania is an organization that brings together all sectors of the tourism industry: hotels, tour operators, airlines, event organizers and related services in the field of hospitality. SKÅL International Romania currently counts 48 members (14 persons being founding members), who meet 11 times a year, on the second Thursday of each month, except August.
The spirit of SKÅL International Romania encourages the development of personal and interpersonal relationships between SKÅL members in Romania and SKÅL International members.
Club members – top executives and presidents of companies from tourism field – meet together in order to discuss and put up matters of mutual interest. Here, in a friendly atmosphere, based on legacy of „Father SKÅL” – Florimond VOLCKAERT, the ideas, opportunities and challenges of the industry, are discussed in both professional and business terms.
Starting from the SKÅL slogan „Doing business among friends”, in order to be considered, the relations of friendship have to be putted into practice.
In 15 years of activity, SKÅL members of Romania’s Club have tried to combine both the professional contribution to the development of the entire sector and the assistance given to the community.
SKÅL International is a non-political organization that encourages progress and evolution through affiliation with other international organizations in the tourism industry, such as the World Tourism Organization. SKÅL does not discriminate on grounds of sex, age, race, religion or political and social status and support charity. Most of the activities are organized locally by the national committees that are part of SKÅL International, whose head office is in Torremolinos, Spain.
SKÅL International is led by an Executive Committee consisting of seven members elected by delegates of the Annual General Meeting held during the World Congress which takes place in a different country each year. This gives members the opportunity to observe best tourism potential worldwide.
SKÅL International today has approximately 17,000 members in 400 Clubs throughout 80 nations. Most activities occur at local level, moving up through National Committees, under the umbrella of SKÅL International.
SKÅL is the abbreviation of four Scandinavian words: Sundheit (health), Karlek (friendship/love); Alder (long life), Lyka (happiness).
