Revolution Square is a square that was traditionally called Palace Square until the time of the Romanian Revolution in 1989. Previously, during the communist period, it was also called Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej Square. It is surrounded by important buildings, including the Royal Palace, the Romanian Athenaeum or the Palace of the Carol I University Foundation. and the Renaissance Memorial.

The latter - Eternal Glory to the Heroes and the Romanian Revolution of December 1989, was inaugurated in 2005 and has 25 meters. In the center of the memorial are walls where the names of all those who lost their lives are written. An important historical event in the market is the great anti-communist and pro-monarchist manifestation of the youth in Bucharest.

It took place on November 8, 1945 and was repressed through violence and arrests. Another important historical event, bearing his name, by the way, after December 21, is, of course, the Romanian Revolution of 1989.
