SABIA DACICĂ - SICA DACICA or FALX (Latin word for sickle.

I think few know that there is a monument in Romania that is a Dacian falx.

The author of this superb monument is the sculptor NICOLAE ADAM!

This most effective Dacian weapon is said to have prompted the Romans to change their helmets and shields after the 101-102 war, which did not resist because the edge of the curve, the power of the blow and the effect the sickle given by the weapon's conformation, formed a destructive combination.
The Dacian Falx was of two kinds: one hand or two hands.

The small variant (the one for a hand) was called the sica (sickle) in the geto-if language.

The giant Falx has a height of 3.5 meters, it is made of bronze and brass, it is placed on a 2.5-meter base of reinforced concrete reinforcement and its tip is oriented towards Rome.

It was made in 2008 in memory of Decebal and is located between Simeria and Orastie, Hunedoara County (DN 7).
